Property Overview
Ownership continues with the major renovation that began in early 2022. In addition to a new retail façade for the stores facing East Gude Drive, construction of a five-story 95,000 square foot self-storage facility is now complete.
With the self-storage facility buildout complete, Gude Plaza now consists of 35,000 square feet of retail, 20,000 square feet of light industrial, and 95,000 square feet of self-storage, for a property total of 150,000 square feet. A rooftop solar panel installation was completed, with 377 bifacial 480v panels feeding to a net meter for the storage facility, which will offset approximately 35% of the facility’s power requirements, with an estimated 240MWh of energy annually.
Gude Plaza consists of five buildings that include a mix of retail, neighborhood services and light industrial uses. The six-acre site includes surface parking. Existing tenants include Rockville’s first NextGen Dunkin’, Allstate, Enterprise and the newly opened Storage Sense.
In collaboration with Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) and VisArts, the mural “A Vibrant Place” by local artist Robert Cohen was installed on the exterior wall at Storage Sense.
A dedication ceremony was held on July 17th, 2025 with ribbon-cutting ceremonies attended by State Delegate Ryan Spiegel, State Senator Kagan, Rockville Mayor Ashton, Councilmember Van Grack, VisArts CEO Lisa Marie Ryder, REDI CEO Cindy Rivarde, REDI Board Chair Nancy Regelin, and the artist himself, Robert Cohen.
